Many extreme sports such as Skiing, Kayaking, Racing or Skydiving
demand that their participants constantly re-evaluate risk and make
minor adjustments to safely identify and negotiate hazards along the
way. Unlike sports that introduce random variables over the course
of the activity, decisions in identifying hazards, calculating, rigging,
and executing flawless bungee jumps must be made before any of the
sport takes place. These decisions are often made on a windy bridge
at nasty heights while dealing with temperamental traffic and spectators.
Once the jumping begins there must never occur even a single moment
of surprise, a lapse in concentration or circumstance in which safety
factor is compromised.
We present each element in this training course to teach the technical
aspects of Bungee Jumpmastering in a way that will raise the candidate’s
level of concentration and confidence so he develops the ability to
lead a crew and make decisions while under the influence of adrenalin.
Much different than the bare bones to begin a commercial jumping
operation, this will give you that and a realization of what other
goals you never thought possible. Being able to rig any reasonable
platform and jump confidently and safely within practical limits with
your crew is one great beginning to any of life’s new adventures.
The course in Idaho begins with an attention-getting leap from the
90-foot Beaver Dick’s Ferry Bridge in Boise. Riveted, you’ll
travel to the 160-foot Glenn’s Ferry Bridge, the 360-foot Hansen
and the 490-foot Perrine in Twin Falls. In an intense three days and
nights the candidate will rig, re-rig, repel, rescue, jump, ask and
learn from North America’s longest continuously operating crew
on Idaho bridges where our great western style was born and may be
viewed along scenic highways every day.
Though it helps for candidates to know something of
rope mechanics, the only prerequisites are aptitude and attitude. Due
to the nature of the sport we cannot guarantee to endorse any candidate.
Candidates will receive a certificate of completion and letter of recommendation
according to our evaluation at the course’s end.
